She found this interesting blog post about things around the house that are toxic to pets.  Boy, some of these I had no idea!  But the woman interviewed is Fiona Fisher, D.V.M., so she must know what she's talking about.  Here's the quick list.  Read the post for the details:
  1. Raisins & grapes
  2. Bread dough
  3. Chewing gum
  4. Macadamia nuts
  5. Nicotine
  6. Chocolate
  7. Alcohol
  8. Pain Relievers
  9. Tea
  10. Onions
The article said just one Tylenol is deadly for cats.  Who'da thunk?  We keep Tylenol around here at the bed and breakfast for guests that overdo the hiking or sitting out in the fishing boat too long in the sun on Wallowa Lake.

Well, it's good to know there's a poison control center just for animals.  Even if we're out here in Joseph Oregon at the end of the road there's a number to call if we get into trouble.  Just don't offer me any Tylenol and no one gets hurt.
